ECUADOR - CONATEL Regulatory Compliance

Low power (<50mW) RF equipment does not require CONATEL approval in Ecuador.  High power RF equipments will require a review by the Superintendencia.  Cell phones and equipment that connect to the Public Network, will require testing and approval in country.

For cellular telephone regulatory approval, the "Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones" in Ecuador will require between 1-2 samples in order to perform functional testing on the units.  The samples must be connected and registered with a local cellular provider such as Movistar, Porta, or Alegro.

Contact LARCG for the latest information on requirements in Ecuador.
