URUGUAY - URSEC Regulatory Compliance

In Resolution 35.2000, the technical requirements for Spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping devices are defined by the National Office of Communications, in Montevideo Uruguay. For example, Frequency Hopping devices in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands must utilize a minimum of 75 hopping frequencies. The maximum bandwidth, at 20dB, allowed for the hopping channel is 1MHz. The time occupied on any one frequency cannot be greater than 0.4 seconds in a 30 second period.

All wireless products will need homologation certification in Uruguay. Spread spectrum devices using the 5.725-5.850 GHz frequency range are also available to homologate; those frequencies are not protected. Products that are to be certified and subsequently sold in Uruguay will require a Certificate of Importation that is issued by Uruguay's regulatory agency, URSEC.

Contact LARCG for more information on how to import and market your products into Uruguay.
